Here's how you would spend one day in Seville as an introduction to the city. You'll want to spend more time there to really enjoy everything it has to offer, but a full day is enough if you just want an overview of what's on offer.

The aim of this article is to recommend the best parts of a quick visit to Seville, including what to see and what to do in one day.

In the morning we should visit the Monumental area of the city, which includes Alcázar, Archivo de Indias and its surroundings, the Cathedral and its surroundings. Santa Cruz is particularly nice and Murillo-Catalina Ribera Gardens are close by.

If you don't want to spend too much time during a visit, then you are able to explore the city on your own if you drive or use a public transportation. Tours, on the other hand, can be slow and also require driving up some more attractions so it is recommended hiring them instead.

When visiting, we'll only be able to enter one of the two most characteristic monuments of the city with advance tickets: The Alcázar or the Cathedral of Seville. Long queues are common for both.

The day visitor should take a skip the line tour of the Monumental area before lunch. Located here is our restaurant for midday dining, Arenal and Alfalfa, not to mention the Plaza de la Virgen and the Cathedral.

Afternoon: If the weather is good, which is almost always the case, in the early afternoon we recommend taking a carriage ride around Seville, which is a great opportunity to visit other interesting places like María Luisa Park and the banks of the Guadalquivir River or booking extensive experience with cooking and baking classes in Seville.

You can then head over to the the commercial area mostly offers streets in the centre and is made up of Tetuán, Velazquez, Odonell, Rioja, Sierpes, Cuna and the squares of Duque Salvador and Encarnación. This shopping tour will bring you closer to the real, living Seville and its most popular streets. An alternative is to visit the Museum of Fine Arts, a magnificent art gallery with the best masterpieces of the Sevillian Baroque.

Night If the travel plan allows it, at the end of the afternoon or in the evening we can attend a show related to the Andalusian folklore, such as the tablaos flamencos.
