    Where is Ronda?

Ronda is situated at an altitude of 723 metres in the Serranía de Ronda, on the river Guadalevín, which separates the city into two parts. It is located on the A-376 between San Pedro Alcántara (50 km) and Algodonales (39 km), 145 km from Seville, 52 km from Marbella, 86 km from Antequera, 113 km from Málaga, 113 km from Jerez de la Frontera, 151 km from Cádiz, 632 km from Madrid and 1,016 km from Barcelona. It is the second most inhabited village in the interior of the province, after Antequera.

Why are the houses in the Pueblos Blancos white?

The houses in Pueblos Blancos are white to protect them as much as possible from the sun in summer or during heat waves. White houses stay cooler in the hot summer than other colours. This wisdom comes from the Moors. The white colour reflects the sunlight and does not absorb it, keeping the house cool.

Is Ronda in the province of Málaga?

Yes, Ronda is located in the province of Malaga and is one of the most famous of the white villages of the Sierra. Also the white village of Zahara de la Sierra has one of the most impressive settings in the province of Cadiz.

    Who built the Ronda bridge?

In the year 1700, Ronda finally had the opportunity to build a bridge over the river Guadalevín. The reason for this bridge was to facilitate the transport of people and vehicles and to serve as a link between El Mercadillo and La Ciudad. It became necessary due to the impossibility of using the roadway through Jesus Christ.

How high is the Puente Nuevo de Ronda?

The New Bridge was built between 1759 and 1793, more than three decades. It is considered a masterpiece of engineering. It is 98 high and 70 m long.

What exactly is the name of the bridge in Ronda?

It is called "PUENTE NUEVO" and is known for having the best views. The best views of Puente Nuevo are obtained from the small path that starts at the Plaza de María Auxiliadora. Apart from its beauty, the Puente Nuevo de Ronda is also known for its mysteries and legends, which have been recounted in numerous books and historical writings.
